The process
Four steps to sell your car
Step 1: Tell us about your car
Call us or fill in the quick online form with the make, model, year, condition and your suburb. A photo helps but is optional.
Step 2: Receive a cash offer
We review the details and contact you with an offer for your vehicle. There’s no obligation to accept it.
Step 3: Arrange the handover
If you accept, we agree a time and place. Vehicle collection may be available — we’ll confirm it for your car and location.
Step 4: Complete the sale
We confirm payment and paperwork with you, take the keys, and you’re free of the car.

What to have ready
Having these on hand makes the sale quicker and helps make sure the change of ownership is done properly.
- Photo ID for the registered owner
- All keys you have for the vehicle
- Registration and ownership details
- Any service history or documents (if available)
Please remove personal belongings, toll tags and anything stored in the glovebox or boot before the handover.
Is there any obligation once I ask for an offer?
No. You can decline the offer, or take time to think about it.
How is the offer worked out?
We look at the make, model, year, condition and any damage or faults you describe. Photos help. If what we see at the handover is very different from the description, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.
What paperwork is involved?
In New Zealand the seller should notify NZTA Waka Kotahi when a vehicle is sold. We’ll go through the change of ownership with you when the sale is completed.
What if my car is still under finance?
Let us know when you contact us. Money owing on a vehicle needs to be sorted out before it can be sold, and we can talk you through it.
